Bio:
Marilyn Kay was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, April 1st, 1951. She grew up as a farmer’s daughter with four siblings. Her mother played piano and later guitar and music was a daily part of their life.Marilyn’s name and music style are becoming well known and appreciated by her faithful following at ‘open mic’ nights in Kingston and Poulsbo, Washington. She is often asked to sing with her group, Highway 305, at family picnics, parties and local fund raisers. Her songs have a familiar blend of old time flavor and story-telling lyrics that hit home with emotions ranging from sad loss of love to ‘happy you are gone’ songs with melodies that find their way into your head and heart. She also enjoys making the audience laugh along with her about the funny side of life. Her subjects range from truck driving songs, family experiences, love lost and/or found and songs that reflect her family’s religious roots.
